Picopack Selected for 'Innovation Premier 1000 Program' Recommended by the Intellectual Property Office

Picopack, a company specializing in next-generation digital X-ray platforms, announced that it has been selected for the "Innovation Premier 1000 Program," a government initiative designed to foster innovative enterprises.
Picopack was included in the final list after passing an evaluation based on a recommendation from the Intellectual Property Office. The company explained that its intellectual property rights, technological competitiveness, and commercialization capabilities were comprehensively evaluated during the selection process.
The Innovation Premier 1000 is a program that identifies small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and middle-market companies with innovativeness and growth potential, providing them with linked support in areas such as policy financing, R&D, investment attraction, consulting, and overseas expansion.
Based on its proprietary technologies and intellectual property, Picopack is developing a next-generation digital X-ray platform. Centered on the medical field, the company is expanding the scope of its technological applications to include industrial inspection, security, and defense.
With this selection, Picopack has laid the groundwork to utilize linked support programs from major policy financial institutions, including the Korea Development Bank (KDB), Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK), Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank), Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT), Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KIBO), and Korea Growth Investment Corporation.
Beyond policy financing, the company can explore support necessary for its various growth stages, such as R&D, investment attraction, technical and management consulting, and overseas commercialization. Specific support scales and conditions may vary depending on the evaluation and business procedures of each institution.
Picopack has also been continuing its recent achievements in private investments and government R&D projects. It has secured a cumulative investment of 9.8 billion won from domestic venture capitals and other investors.
Furthermore, having been selected as the lead organization for the "2026 Scale-Up TIPS" R&D project promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the company is pushing forward with the technological advancement and commercialization of its next-generation digital X-ray platform.
The company noted that through its selection for the Innovation Premier 1000, its intellectual property competitiveness has been additionally verified, following the recognition of its business viability in the private investment market and its technological prowess in government R&D projects.
Moving forward, Picopack plans to improve product performance and broaden its application targets to industrial fields outside of healthcare using its core intellectual property and proprietary technologies. It will also pursue the establishment of a foundation for commercialization and acquire the necessary certifications to enter overseas markets.
"This selection is the result of a comprehensive evaluation of the company's intellectual property, technology, and commercialization capabilities," said Oh Geun-young, CEO of Picopack. "Following our investment attraction and selection for Scale-Up TIPS, we have further expanded our foundation for growth."
He added, "Based on our core proprietary technologies, we will enhance our product competitiveness and expand our business domains into various fields such as industry, security, and defense, thereby growing into a global digital X-ray platform company."
